Review by Darren MacEachern from www.flyangler.ca

Once in a while you stumble upon a product that makes you say, “Why didn’t I think of that”. Glenbow Flyfishing has come up with a product that does just this.

Glen Tinckler, owner and operator of Glenbow Flyfishing has assembled a nice assortment of fly collections for some of Canada’s popular river systems and lakes. He has put together a thoughtful assortment in each collection, researching patterns, consulting with local guides and of course partaking in some on stream testing. The results of the research are a concise gathering of flies capable of fulfilling the angler’s needs in a given setting. (more...)

I'm relatively new to fly fishing (2-3 years), and just found your fly kits at retail. Can I just say, thanks! This is exactly what I needed......what flies to use, when and where, etc.... Your website's hatch chart and recommended imitation will most definitely prove helpful too. Keep up the great work!

Also, any chance on recommending how & when for stillwater patterns?

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Glen. I just received your glasses and wanted you to know how impressed I am. These things are beautiful. Pictures don't do them justice. This may sound nutty, but drinking beer is more enjoyable. They have a nice solid feel to them.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these as a gift to the flyfisherman who has "everything". A wife may not know what kind of flyline their beau needs, but she can't go wrong getting him a set of these. They are the best I've seen. Good job and I hope you sell a ton.

In August of 2007, I had the opportunity to fly fish the flowing waters of southwestern Alberta for a period of ten days. Since I usually fly fish lakes, my selection of fly patterns prior to the trip was somewhat limited. I sought out flies in my hometown but was not impressed with either the selection or the quality of flies. I did however come across Glenbow FlyFishing Fly Kits in a local store, was more than impressed with the quality of the flies, which in turn led me to their internet site.

I contacted Glenbow FlyFishing concerning the quantity and type of flies I would require for my trip. Glen was very cooperative answering my questions and ultimately we agreed on a quantity and selection of flies for the rivers I would be fishing.

The flies I ordered arrived promptly and without any problems. They were well packed with the type and quantity of flies clearly marked on each package of flies. The flies were of very good quality with an apparent consistency throughout.

The real test for me was to fish the flies and see how they stood up. This turned out to be a non-issue as they held up and performed beyond my expectations. One Elk Hair Caddis stood up for nearly two days of hard fishing with very little wear before a rainbow stole it.

Overall, I was quite impressed with the entire experience of ordering through Glenbow FlyFishing. They do good honest business and provide an excellent product.
